I’ve been joyfully engaged in early childhood education in New York City (NYC), the San Francisco (SF) Bay area, and at Early Childhood CARES here in Eugene. I have been the director of Olum since August 2018. During my thirty years in the field I have been fortunate to have experienced a rich variety of related professional positions: teacher, art teacher, mentor teacher, preschool co-director, designer of teacher workshops on neuroscience and play, creator and facilitator of arts and parenting programs in SF, NYC and in Eugene at Parenting Now. I acquired the foundation of my early childhood experience in Berkeley, at SF State, and during the 18 years living in NYC teaching and directing a variety of early childhood programs while raising my twin children in the flurry of the city. During my time in NYC, I also continued my education by taking classes at Bank Street College, Hunter College and Columbia University Teacher’s College. I am thrilled to be a part of the Olum family and be back in Eugene where I spent my middle and high school years.
